The FR Original feels snappier when "flicking" the trem arm. I did replace this with a FR Original, only because I had a spare from an abandoned project. Floyd 1000 trem system is good, and gets the job done. I have rated it Excellent+ to Mint, the Jumbo Frets. This Jackson is a real screamer and shows almost no use.
I play very little and have collected many guitars over the years. It is a minor thing, but I did not think the roll-off was consistent across the knob turn with original parts. Up for sale from my private collection is this 97 Jackson Dinky DK2. I did replace the pots to CTS, and capacitor to orange drop. I'm not sure what positions 2, 3, & 4 are wired for, since there was no literature with the guitar, but sounds like some combination of coil splitting. Sound is really great & versatile with the five-way switch. So small that I can't see without magnifying, and just a few spots. Only when inspecting with a magnifying lamp did I see a few tiny fisheyes/blemishes. Fret ends were not as smooth as I prefer, which I took care of with a little bit of work with the fret file. Neck profile with 12"-16" radius is comfortable territory for me, and this guitar lives up to my expectations. No complaints, but as always I did adjust to my own preferences. Set up out of the box was within factory specs. My review is in comparison to their USA custom shop guitars, and I will go into detail. I have several USA Jackson/Charvel guitars, and this is the first import for me of my favorite brand. Music background: Playing in bands for 30 plus years.
